What's it like to work at the DCC?
We’re supporting the transformation of the energy system, which makes DCC a really exciting place to be. We’re working towards our goal of connecting more than 30 million homes and small businesses to our nationwide secure network. You’ll find an environment full of change and innovation, where you’re empowered to speak up and given responsibility from day one. We tackle multiple varied and challenging tasks on a daily basis, as we deliver for our customers and move towards operating the secure nationwide network at scale. Essentially, you’ll be surrounded by passionate people who believe in transforming Britain’s energy and helping everyone to lead smarter, greener lives. If that sounds like something you could get behind, this is the place for you.
What can I expect from the application process?
The application process will be detailed on each job description page, but generally includes a chat with a recruiter followed by two or three interviews. For some roles you'll also be asked to prepare a presentation in advance of one of these interviews. See our latest jobs and apply.
Where can I get support with my application and interview?
For a perm or contract role, you can talk to your recruiter. Or, if you're a contractor applying through a third party, speak to your agency or umbrella company. Some roles require a short presentation during interview stage, but you'll always be notified in advance so you have time to prepare.
How soon after interview will I know if I’ve been successful?
The hiring manager will aim to give you feedback within a few days of any interview stage.
Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes, we're happy to accept applications from the same candidate for more than one role.
What is the on-boarding/induction process after I join?
Once you accept an offer, a contract will be issued to you to sign and return. You'll then receive a portal link with log-in details so you can upload documents such as your ID, employment references, and proof of right to work and home address. Once vetting is complete (which can take up to five weeks) your start date will be confirmed, taking your notice period and availability into account.
When you start with us, your hiring manager and the people team will schedule your initial induction to ensure you get off to a great start.
What do you offer in terms of adjustments and support for people with disabilities?
Please share any disability details and reasonable adjustments requests at pre-screening stage (before you submit your application). If you need information about the vacancy in an alternative format prior to submission, please contact the recruiter listed on the description. We are committed to making our recruitment process as accessible as possible and will accommodate for both visible and non-visible disabilities, including neurodivergent conditions. For example, if you are attending an in-person interview, all three of our offices are equipped with ramps and lifts.
What kind of diversity and inclusion programmes do you offer?
