Listening and acting
We love to hear what our people have to say through surveys, steering groups and less formal channels. Whether it's wellbeing, D&I, CSR or the way we approach our work, we want to hear it. And act on it.
Smart people working as one
Working with our customers, our partners or each other, we unlock complexity by combining knowledge, creativity and smart ideas.
Ours is a friendly, open culture with a strong focus on the people who work for the DCC, and the customers we serve.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. There’s huge expertise within the DCC. For us, the key to achieving our goals is harnessing talent effectively across team boundaries.
We work together towards common goals and celebrate when we reach them. When we do hit obstacles, we’re open and honest as we challenge and support each other to overcome them.
Whether it’s in meetings, coming up with new ideas or working together on shared documents, strong communication skills and active listening are important to us. Join us and you'll have the chance to challenge yourself every day with the support and skills of your colleagues and team.
We take security extremely seriously, for example with biometric access controls for our buildings. As the digital backbone of Britain’s energy system, the DCC is part of essential national infrastructure. That’s why you’ll undergo additional security vetting and will need to understand our strict guidance around information classification, handling and governance.
Found a creative way to solve a problem, or explore a new concept? We’re always looking for ways to improve so that we can deliver for our customers and energy consumers. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions and share your ideas, as we learn from every experience and discover ways to change for the better. And for every success – whether it’s an individual or a team - we’ll celebrate together.
Ultimately, our culture is always evolving and when you join us you can play a part in shaping it.
Here at DCC we work together to make the complex, simple. By creating adaptable energy systems and providing consumers with information about utilising these systems efficiently, building a greener, more connected Britain has never appeared more possible.
Our mission is to help digitise Britain’s energy network, make a critical contribution in the effort to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions and improve the nation’s connectivity.
We love to hear what our people have to say through surveys, steering groups and less formal channels. Whether it's wellbeing, D&I, CSR or the way we approach our work, we want to hear it. And act on it.
We recognise that we’re stronger when we work together, share our differences and respect each other’s perspectives and backgrounds. So we're committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued and encouraged to be their authentic self.
We want you to bring your whole self to work every day, and our policies and processes support and enable this to happen. As do our flexible working arrangements, employee wellbeing initiatives and D&I forums. We also ensure that our recruitment, training and promotion practices are fair, equitable and transparent.
We encourage regular employee feedback, so that people feel comfortable in speaking up and confident enough to call out anything that doesn’t feel right. This helps us to understand how you feel about working here and continuously improve our working environment. And because we always hold ourselves accountable, you can be sure that we’ll act on any feedback.
Our training and development opportunities help you be your best self – from regular 1-2-1s all the way up to professional qualifications.
